  • The Wonder Years & Beyond

The early years started in Arizona and ended in Georgia - with a couple stop overs in Europe for good measure.

    • Fort Huachuca, AZ: 1955-1957

    • Augsburg, Germany: 1957-1961

    • Fort Lee, VA: 1961-1963

    • Sigonella, Italy: 1963-1967

    • Brookville, IN: 1967-1968

    • Augusta, GA: 1968-1975

  • Lifeguard Tower Beach

    Through the 1970's, 80s, & most of the 90's

Families came together, friends were made and lives were built in LA and Shasta County.

  • The Farm.

"The Farm" in West College Corner, Indiana is also known as Home. Or at least another version of what we all knew of it. Having been the home of "Grams" for all of the grandkids and great-grandkids lives, it had become the steady and consistent place that everyone landed, came back to, traveled, and came to when something happened. If something else qualified as home, we didn't know it. Therefore, this was ours.

The house and farm were sold in 2018 and the family relocated back to Brookville - Grams wanted to be back at the start.

The Cabin, The Brookville House, & The Bath House

"The Cabin" - a home that Mary had built in Connersville on land that she had bought and everyone helped clear over time. "The Bath House" -Peg's House, where the family of course spent time as well.  And finally, "The Brookville House" - the home that Grams bought when she sold the farm.

  • We End in Westfield.

Summer 2024 she fell, broke her hip, and determined that it was time to make some changes. She moved in with me (gretta), quit smoking, and her health improved greatly. Over the next two years her labs consistently came back great, she battled the flu twice and a massive arthritis flare. Her strength improved drastically as well, with her regularly traversing back and forth to the second floor to do laundry and check to see if her grandsons did their chores.  In the last year she stopped drinking entirely, wanting to improve her health to a higher degree and she also reached a healthy weight, putting on forty pounds since she arrived.

She was happy.  She felt safe and content. She would stop me and say that a lot.

She would see the boys every single day, multiple times a day. They would get her things, take out her trash, stop to chat, and tell her goodnight. A home with family, with more that could come visit - holidays with good times, and easy, peaceful living. She could shop, enjoy her documentaries and docuseries - and that was life. And life was good.
